World of Rhythm

World of Rhythm

World of Rhythm is an ongoing journey that brings together the heartbeats of different cultures through the universal language of drums.

A Note from DOMNIQ

World of Rhythm is a project that never really ends. It keeps growing, changing, and unfolding as I travel and collect stories from around the world. Over the years I’ve gone on study trips to Senegal, Japan, Brazil, Morocco, and most recently to Indonesia. Each journey brings back new ideas, new collaborations, and new music that finds its place under the name World of Rhythm.

Sometimes this project lives in small community gatherings, sometimes on big festival stages or in concert halls. But wherever it happens, the starting point is always the same: the drum. The drum is the oldest instrument we know. It holds the stories, the heartbeat, and the soul of every culture. It is through this drum language that we connect — whether in the kitchens of mothers cooking for drummers, or at wedding celebrations where rhythms carry a couple into their new life together.

In World of Rhythm, I try to bring those heartbeats together. To connect the cultures I encounter abroad with the world I live in here in the West. It is about learning from one another, creating together, and discovering that rhythm is a key that opens doors everywhere.
