At its centre is the album A New Dawn, shaped through years of collaboration between percussionist DOMNIQ and dancer Redo. From this starting point, different versions emerge: intimate solo sets with electronics, duo performances, larger productions with guest artists, and a full theatrical show available on DOMNIQ TV.
Each version takes shape in dialogue with the space and the moment, whether in a festival setting, a theatre, or a concert hall. The form shifts, but the core remains the same.
Working with Redo changed how I think about rhythm. When you play with a dancer, the body becomes the instrument, or the instrument becomes a body. The line between the two starts to disappear.
A New Dawn began as a way to explore that space. What happens when sound and movement do not illustrate each other, but actually interact? When neither leads and neither follows?
The album is a collection of the work we created across these different versions. Each performance continues from there, always slightly different. That is where the title comes from.
