World of Rhythm

Dive into a world of uplifting rhythms. Personal stories from many corners of the world melt together. Feel the beatings of the sea. Thumping of the wind. Hear the drums: colorful and uninhibited. Embark on an extraordinary musical journey. Guided by percussionist DOMNIQ, inspired by his musical journeys through Morocco. An invitation for you. Dare to join?

The hall fills with the sound of the guembri. Moroccan star Mehdi Nassouli enchants you with his instrument and voice. An ode to Gnaoua culture: the beating heart of Moroccan music. Meanwhile, the poetic words of Gershwin Bonevacia float through the air. Time to land. To get lost again. To the sound of pulsating drums. Captivated by the mysterious stories, Oud player Jawa Manla takes you to Syria. This musical world seamlessly brought together in new compositions by pianist and Composer of the Fatherland, Martin Fondse. While all this time accompanied by the best percussionists from their own city and country... Let the drums speak. It buzzes and fizzes. Every performance anew.

Community Concerts

While we prepare for our Amsterdam premiere on the 24th, we're visiting international communities to share our project, process, and connect with local musicians. We invite you to come and join us for these free short concerts:

  • Our community concert in Amsterdam South-East was a delightful experience! We enjoyed performing alongside singer Mariah and spoken word artist Asomdwenyi. After we concluded our performance, it was a wonderful surprise to witness all the women stand up, initiating the playing and dancing to traditional songs.

  • Our second community concert in Amsterdam West, featuring Oud player Hamza Amrani, was a cozy and intimate affair. We performed improvisations on pieces from 'World of Rhythm' and debuted a new composition by Hamza, specifically crafted for this event.

  • We reflect on a truly memorable concert featuring Iranian singer-songwriter Mazis and drummer Emad, which was attended by over 300 refugees. After our 30-minute set, the enthusiastic audience was not ready to stop. We ended up playing music together and dancing for over an hour.
